Dr. Fan received PhD from National University of Singapore in 2003. During 2003-2006, he conducted postdoc research at Max-Planck-Institute of Microstructure Physics, Germany and in 2006-2008, he worked as Research Associate in the University of Cambridge. Since 2008, Dr. Fan joined in Nanyang Technological University (NTU) as Assistant Professor, and was promoted to tenured Associate Professor in 2014.
Dr. Fan’s main research topic is nanomaterials in energy conversion and storage, including electrochemical energy storage and water splitting. He has been particularly working on nanoarray electrodes, and application of atomic layer deposition (ALD) in energy materials.
Dr. Fan has published 217 journal papers, with total citations of more than 18000 and H-index of 72. Among them 37 papers are marked as “Highly Cited Papers”. He is recognized as Highly Cited Researchers in 2016, 2017 and 2018 by Clarivate Analytics. He was selected in 2018 as Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC). He is an editorial/advisory board member of 10 key journals (4 Wiley journals, 3 IOP journals, and 3 Elsevier journals). He has delivered more than 50 Invited/Plenary Talks in international conferences.
