Professor XING Bengang, in Division of Chemistry and Biological Chemistry, School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His academic experience: Dr. Xing received his Ph.D. in Department of Chemistry, Nanjing University in 2000. From end of 2000, he moved to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to work as research associate until early of 2003. Then from 2003 – 2005, he held his Post-Doc. Fellow appointment at Crump Institute of Molecular Imaging at University of California, Los Angles and Molecular Imaging Program at School of Medicine, Stanford University. In 2006, he was appointed as Assistant Professor at NTU and later promoted to Full Professorship in 2019. From 2011- 2017, Prof. Xing was deputy Head for academic affairs in Division of Chemistry and Biological Chemistry.
His main research interests: Biomedical Fluorescent Imaging, Chemical Biology, Food science and Nano-medicine. Xing’s research interests are highly interdisciplinary at the interfaces of biomedical fluorescent imaging, chemical biology, food science and nanomedicine. Specific aims of his core research are to integrate chemical biology and nanotechnology knowledge with point-of-care molecular imaging modalities to solve some critical problems that people express concerns in biomedical fields. So far, over 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers have been published in Xing’s group (including Nat. Comm, Angew. Chem., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Chem. Soc. Rev. Chem. Comm. Etc). Some of Xing’s creative discoveries in drug resistant bacterial imaging, precise regulation of cellular activities in cancer and diabetes diseases, and tissue penetrable NIR light-mediated theranostic paradigms have been well recognized in prestigious leading journals and highlighted by several scientific websites.
