Senior Vice President
Prof Chan Siew Hwa is a Professor at the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and the Co-Director of Energy Research Institute@NTU. Prof. Chan joined NTU in 1991 after obtaining his PhD and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Imperial College London. Prof. Chan is a Non-Executive Director of Maz Energy Pte Ltd, Advisor to Total SA (France), Wuhan Koleal, Horizon Energy Systems, etc. His research is inclined to Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Technologies. His research has gained him a number of international recognitions, which include George-Stephenson Award from the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, UK in 2000, Scientific Achievement Award from International Association of Hydrogen Energy, USA in 2007 and ”World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds” award from Thomson Reuters in 2014.

Mr Xie Xinghua, Economist, Master of Science from Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (GIGCAS). He joined the Science and Technology Division, South China University of Technology (SCUT) in 2005, mainly responsible for science and technology management, technological innovation research at enterprises, etc. From 2008 to 2012, he was seconded to the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province. He was also former director of SCUT Capital Management Co., Ltd.

Dr Gu Haiwen obtained his PhD from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICCAS) in 2004, subsequently worked as a postdoctoral research staff at the University of Sherbrooke, Canada. Since 2006, he joined NTU and NUS, dedicated to material science and research until he joined the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) of A*STAR in 2012. His research is inclined to Polymeric nanocomposites, elastomers and non-destructive analysis technologies, with multiple patents and successful commercialization. In 2017, obtained his Master’s degree through the Technopreneurship and Innovation Programme (TIP) at NTU, Dr Gu continued to act as the Deputy Headof Industry Development Office at IMRE of A*STAR. He is a member of Materials Research Society of Singapore (MRS-S), Singapore National Institute of Chemistry (SNIC) and American Concrete Insitute (ACI).
