Prof Hu Xiao, Director of Environment Chemistry and Materials Centre (ECMC) in Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute (NEWRI) at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. He is a professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) in NTU. Professor Hu gained his BEng from the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering in Tsinghua University in 1985, and MSc and PhD from University Manchester respectively in 1988 and 1990. Professor Hu’s main research interests are in functional and performance polymers, environmental materials, multi-functional nano-hybrids and nanocomposites. Professor Hu has so far contributed to more than 20 IP inventions and about 300 international journal papers.
