On June 26th, the 13th Meeting of the Singapore-Guangdong Collaboration Council (SGCC) was convened in Singapore. The meeting was co-chaired by Guangdong Governor Wang Weizhong, and Minister for Health of Singapore Ong Ye Kung.
At the 13th SGCC Meeting, a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement was signed between Guangzhou Development District (GDD) Administrative Committee, Oriental Energy Co., Limited, and China-Singapore International Joint Research Institute (CSIJRI).
Witnessed by Ong Ye Kung and Wang Weizhong, the agreement was signed by Chen Jie (Director General of the GDD Administrative Committee), Lam Khin Yong (Chairman of CSIJRI Governing Council and Vice President (Industry) of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore), and Yan Jiasheng (General Manager of Oriental Energy Co., Ltd.)at the signing ceremony.
According to the agreement, with the strong support of the GDD Administrative Committee, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and South China University of Technology will establish a close collaboration with Oriental Energy through CSIJRI. This collaboration aims to serve national strategies and major needs of Singapore and China, with focus on areas such as new energy and emerging materials. Together, three partners will jointly establish an innovativealliance in the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, engaging research and development activities related to core technologies. Additionaly, a comprehensive collaborative system will be built that encompasses universities, research institutions and industries, Furthermore, the partners will actively promote talent development by connecting talent resources and facilitating relevant activities such as talent supply and demand matchmaking meetings.
This collaboration will drive the acceleration of technological breakthroughs in strategic emerging industries, foster the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and establish an open and innovative cooperation platform. These efforts will contribute to the creation of a globally competitive open innovation ecosystem, benefiting both Singapore and China.
