WHO WE ARE

Witnessed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and former Singapore PM Lee Hsien Loong, CSIJRI was established as a technology collaboration platform founded by the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City Administrative Committee (CSGKC Administrative Committee), South China University of Technology (SCUT), Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore), and CSGKC Investment and Development Co., Ltd.

CSIJRI attracts cutting-edge technologies and top talent from SCUT, NTU Singapore, and other renowned institutions. Its innovative model—characterized by openness, multidisciplinary collaboration, dynamism, and high performance—strives to enhance research vitality and creativity while accelerating technology transfer. This approach has resulted in significant technological and institutional advancements.

Aligned with the pillar industries and strategic emerging sectors of the Greater Bay Area, CSIJRI has established six R&D platforms: Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Life and Health Sciences, New Energy, New Materials, Green Buildings and Smart Cities, and Pollution Control and Environmental Restoration. It has also launched a diverse array of commercialization projects and nurtured numerous high-tech startups.

With support from both countries and various sectors of society, CSIJRI has drawn top talent and resources from around the globe. Its goal is to create a world-class R&D institution that seamlessly integrates technological innovation, business incubation, and research commercialization.
