On November 21st, the eighth CSIJRI council meeting convened in Singapore and Guangzhou in a hybrid format. Attendees included representatives from key governing bodies, such as Mr Xu Hui, Deputy Director of the CSGKC Development and Construction Office; Ms Cui Ling, a fourth-level researcher representing the Guangzhou Huangpu District Sci & Tech Bureau; Prof Zhu Min, Vice President of SCUT; and Mr Ang Boon Peng, Senior Vice President of Strategic Cooperation at GKC JV. The Institute's management team also participated in the proceedings. The meeting was presided over by Prof Lam Khin Yong, Vice President of NTU Singapore and Chairman of the Governing Council.
The meeting summarized the achievements of the past five years, clarified the future direction and roadmap, and reviewed CSIJRI's charter. Prof Zhu Min expressed gratitude to all governing units for their support and highlighted that CSIJRI has experienced robust expansion over the past year and explored a new development model.
Prof Lam emphasized that the phase-one achievements had significantly enhanced CSIJRI's innovation capabilities. They generated new advantages and injected fresh vitality into China-Singapore cooperation. He hoped the institute could leverage the headquarters building to cultivate innovative talent and promote collaboration in science and technology.
This meeting outlined plans and future strategies for the institute's innovation initiatives. With the next five years being critical, the discussions emphasized the importance of leveraging innovation to generate new development momentum and foster high-quality growth in China-Singapore cooperation. This roadmap aims to position the institute as a global innovation platform.
