On December 8, Mr Loh Tuck Keat, the Consul General of Singapore in Guangzhou, accompanied by Consul (Political) Ms Charine Yong, visited CSIJRI. Mr Xie Xinghua, CSIJRI's Senior Vice President, warmly welcomed them. Mr Xie introduced them to the Institute's achievements in China-Singapore technology and industry cooperation, including technology transfer, research commercialization, and bilateral exchanges.
He emphasized the Institute's pivotal role as a practitioner and platform for fostering China-Singapore technology cooperation. He highlighted that some of its achievements have met international standards. Additionally, Mr Xie underscored the Institute's contribution to nurturing SRDI enterprises and high-tech firms. He also noted that CSIJRI has become fertile ground for Chinese-Singaporean science and technology transfer and commercialization.
During the visit, Mr Loh also held hot discussions with representatives from Institute-based companies, including Merck Diagnostic Application Centre, Simscop, Namiton, Guanfu Energy Technology, and Zhongxing Technology. While acknowledging the Institute's achievements, he highlighted that both countries are experiencing a new wave of foreign investment and industrial relocation in emerging sectors. He emphasized the Institute's valuable contributions to facilitating technological exchanges, cooperation, and regional economic development. As a premier platform for domestic and overseas enterprises, it has attracted a batch of high-end projects and talent to the Huangpu District. These entities are poised to anchor the high-end segments of Singapore's industrial chain.
