On June 26th, the 13th Meeting of the Singapore-Guangdong Collaboration Council (SGCC) was convened in Singapore. The meeting was co-chaired by Guangdong Governor Wang Weizhong, and Minister for Health of Singapore Ong Ye Kung.
At the meeting, a comprehensive cooperation agreement was signed between Guangzhou Development District (GDD) Administrative Committee, Oriental Energy Co., Limited, and CSIJRI.
At the signing ceremony, witnessed by Ong Ye Kung and Wang Weizhong, the agreement was signed by Chen Jie (Director General of the GDD Administrative Committee), Lam Khin Yong (Chairman of the CSIJRI Governing Council and Vice President (Industry) of NTU Singapore), and Yan Jiasheng (General Manager of Oriental Energy Co., Ltd.).
According to the agreement, supported by the GDD Administrative Committee, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and the South China University of Technology will collaborate with Oriental Energy through CSIJRI. This partnership addresses national strategies and the strategic needs of both Singapore and China, focusing on new energy and emerging materials. Together, they will establish an innovative alliance in Knowledge City to conduct research and development on core technologies. They will also build a comprehensive system integrating research institutions and industries. Additionally, the partners will actively promote talent development by connecting talent resources and facilitating activities such as talent supply and demand matchmaking meetings.
This collaboration will drive technological breakthroughs in strategic emerging industries, foster the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and establish an open and innovative cooperation platform. These efforts will contribute to the creation of a globally competitive innovation ecosystem, benefiting both Singapore and China.
