On May 27, 2019, CSIJRI welcomed Mr. Heng Swee Keat, Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister. During the visit, Prof Chan Siew Hwa, CSIJRI's Vice Director and Co-Director of the Energy Research Institute @ NTU Singapore, presented an update on CSIJRI's progress at CSGKC Ascendas OneHub. He also showcased key projects to DPM Heng, including advancements in fuel cell applications, AI in health and aging, and starch-based functional materials.

Turnkey Technology for PGM Catalyst Manufacturing: High Quality, Low Cost, Fast, and Energy-Efficient Process
The project aims to refine a technology to enable mass production of electro-catalysts with higher noble metal content. It will investigate critical factors affecting catalyst quality, expand the procedure's applications, and ultimately transfer the process to industrial partners.
AI+Health and Ageing
The proposed research aims to enhance the life quality of the aging population amid the global aging wave. It focuses on enabling early detection of neurodegenerative illnesses through a game framework powered by smart wearables.
