Prof Li Ren, Vice Director of the National Engineering Research Center for Tissue Restoration and Reconstruction and Vice President of the Guangdong Society of Biomedical Engineering, is a doctoral supervisor and a scholar recognized under the Guangdong 1,000-100-100 Program and a Pearl River Distinguished Professor.

He has led over ten projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation and various scientific and technological initiatives in Guangdong Province. His work has been honored with numerous awards, including the Second Prize of the National Science, Technology, and Invention Award, two First Prizes for provincial science and technology, and several First Prizes for municipal science and technology.

Prof Li has published over 80 papers in journals such as Biomaterials, holds over 20 patents, and has successfully translated several advanced medical devices, including hemoperfusion cartridges, into clinical practice.
