Dr. Robert Tiong Lee Kong is an associate professor in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at NTU Singapore, where he also serves as the Director of the International Engineering Management Master's Programme. Previously, he was the Deputy Director of the Infrastructure Centre and the Robotics Research Centre at NTU. Dr. Tiong is a registered professional engineer in Singapore, a senior member of the Singapore Institution of Engineers, and a member of the BIM Expert Group of the Singapore Building and Construction Authority.

Dr. Tiong stays at the forefront of advancing smart tower cranes in prefabricated projects across Singapore. He has spearheaded the development of a smart transportation and tracking system for prefabricated components, collaborating with contractors, prefabricators, and Singapore's Surbana Jurong Group. As the principal investigator for NTU's Drone Inspection System for Building Façades, his research interests encompass lean manufacturing technology integrating BIM and IDD technology, various prefabrication methods like DFMA, PPVC, and PBU, as well as building intelligence, automation technology, tunnel detection, and risk analysis and assessment. Additionally, Dr. Tiong is dedicated to researching the impacts of climate change on housing and infrastructure.
