Through cultivating high-yield borneol trees, the project team has developed patented equipment for extracting high-quality natural d-borneol and established a comprehensive biotechnology framework. This breakthrough has enabled large-scale production of domestically sourced, premium d-borneol, along with the commercialization of various borneol derivatives.

The core technologies include:

1. Ultrasound-Assisted Extraction and Purification of High-Quality d-borneol: This method offers high production efficiency, enhanced safety, and no organic solvent residue.

2. Efficient Solubilization and Stabilization Technology for d-Borneol: This technology overcomes the application bottleneck of d-borneol in cosmetics, food, and other fields.

3. Transdermal Absorption and Synergistic Utilization Technology: This has led to innovative d-borneol products that enhance transdermal absorption and synergistic utilization, increasing the bioavailability of other active ingredients by 4-10 times.

Potential Applications

The high-quality natural d-borneol developed through this project serves as a valuable medicinal ingredient, a premium fragrance, and a raw material for food and daily chemical products. Statistics reveal that over 900 traditional Chinese medicines and more than 2,300 daily chemical and food products in China contain borneol. The project team has successfully developed and brought to market dozens of products, including Essence Lotion, Radiance Toner, Brightening and Moisturizing Repair Mask, Microcrystal Eye Patch, and Acne Patch.


Value Proposition

Over the years, the project team has partnered with collaborators to cultivate over 2,000 acres of high-quality plum trees in Meizhou, Guangdong Province, ensuring a consistent and reliable supply of raw materials. The team has secured a strong portfolio of dextro-borneol processing technologies, holding over 80 Chinese patents and receiving over 10 provincial and municipal awards.
In addition, the team has established an industry chain for dextro-borneol development, targeting health-conscious consumers through activities such as cultivation, processing, refining, promotion, and commercialization. The market for dextro-borneol raw materials and its derivatives is estimated to exceed 5 billion RMB annually, with the total annual output value of related products surpassing 100 billion RMB.
