Dr. Zhang Lan earned her PhD in Advanced Materials and Solid Oxide Fuel Cells from Shandong University in 2007. Shortly after, she joined NTU Singapore as a researcher, focusing on developing sulfur-resistant, nickel-free electrode materials for solid oxide fuel cells. In 2010, she transitioned to the Energy Research Institute at NTU (ERIAN), contributing to projects on High-Temperature Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (HT-PEMFC) and on-site hydrogen generation. She was promoted to Senior Scientist in August 2015 and Chief Scientist in August 2021.

Dr. Zhang's research spans solid oxide fuel cells, high-temperature proton exchange of membrane fuel cells, flue gas purification, and on-site hydrogen generation, with her current focus on advancing self-supported metal oxide-based catalysts for methane and ammonia cracking.
